Customer Experience & Merchandising Coordinator

Maternity Leave Contract | Hanson Road Flower Co.

We're looking for a warm, organized, customer-focused human to join our flower-filled world for a maternity leave contract beginning July 7, 2026.

Hanson Road is a modern flower shop and gift boutique in downtown Fredericton. We specialize in fresh flowers, plants, gifts, workshops, and helping people celebrate life's big and small moments.

This role is ideal for someone who loves working with people, enjoys keeping things organized, notices the little details, and takes pride in creating beautiful spaces and meaningful customer experiences.

Position Details

Position: Customer Experience & Merchandising Coordinator

Contract Length: Approximately 12–18 months

Start Date: July 7, 2026

Regular Schedule:

• Tuesday – Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

• Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Hours: Approximately 39 hours per week, with additional hours available during peak holiday periods.

What You'll Be Doing

Customer Experience

• Greeting customers and creating a welcoming in-store experience

• Helping customers select flowers, plants, and gifts

• Taking flower orders and helping customers navigate life's celebrations, milestones, and meaningful moments

• Assisting customers in-store, over the phone, and by email

Merchandising & Inventory

• Receiving, pricing, and stocking inventory

• Creating and maintaining beautiful displays throughout the shop

• Restocking products and keeping shelves organized

• Monitoring inventory and noticing the little details that help the shop run smoothly

Communications

• Responding to customer emails

• Sending ready-for-pickup notifications

• Assisting with phone inquiries and order fulfillment

Creative & Event Support

• Creating Instagram stories and sharing what's happening in the shop

• Assisting with workshop and event preparation, as well as occasional local flower and gift deliveries

• Providing occasional floral and plant care support

• Is organized and detail-oriented

• Takes initiative and notices what needs to be done

• Sees something that needs attention and takes action to fix it

• Enjoys creating beautiful spaces and meaningful customer experiences

• Enjoys working independently and as part of a small team

• Is comfortable learning new technology and software

• Has a valid driver's license and is comfortable making occasional local deliveries

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, especially around holidays and special events

What to Expect

While the regular schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, Hanson Road experiences several busy seasons throughout the year. Additional hours are expected during peak periods, including Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas, Graduation Season, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

These are exciting, fast-paced weeks where our entire team comes together to help make meaningful moments happen for our customers. Flexibility during these busy seasons is an important part of the role.
